So, like that’s a big thing for me.”, ” I needed help with my house, so I was looking for help and we just looked up programs and Community Action League was one of the first ones to stand out and we immediately signed up.” Those Services include emergency crisis Services, we do utility payments, emergency rent assistance, emergency shelter, car repairs, medical assistance, Transportation, clothing, so those emergency crisis services are intended to stabilize crisis situations to be able to reach out.

The hardest thing to do is make the call – and I can promise you that my case managers, as well as other staff here at Community Action, will listen to your situation and we will do the best of our ability to provide whatever assistance you may need. I think all of our programs are important, but I really like those programs where we’re more preventative versus reactive. I actually didn’t think they were going to do everything they did so I was tickled pink and once all the work got done, I just couldn’t believe that it happened.” My name is Clifton Campbell, I’m the CEO of the Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City, and we have a very simple model, and that is helping people changing lives. So all the services out here are free. “And Community Action came in and made sure that my furnace was working. My air conditioning was working and once all the work got done, I I just couldn’t believe that it happened.” Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and so, when someone reaches out to us, we know that they’re in need, and so the first expectation is that we listen. “Thank you so very much babe. I appreciate you.”
So by the time we leave their home they are comfortable and living in a better place. It’s the best thing out there. So, if they’re needing help with rent or utilities or food we’re usually about the the only agency in town that has funding to help with those things on a consistent basis. And even for children, if children don’t know where they’re going to sleep at night or know where they’re going to get their next meal, it doesn’t make for a great student in school, because they’ve got all these other things that they have to worry about. Again, that’s where Community Action Agency plays a very strong role in assisting these families. What I’m most passionate about, especially working with the youth at Community Action,
they have the skill, sets the tools to be able to enhance themselves as to be a better person to be a better citizen and also to even make the mark in the world. Yeah, it’s all about the people and it’s all about meeting people where they are they’re there to help folks get to that place. Everything that can help a person lift themselves up. They just need that extra help.
The people and the staff really love helping the people, and that makes a difference in what you see when you walk in the door. Working with the church and Community Action. Partnering together is great. Jesus said that when you’re hungry you fed me, Community Action will help with that need. They have already helped with that need and just imagine if someone was to come and provide about 10 to 15,000 dollars worth of services in your home, no cost to you and when we leave, you should feel great.
